Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson mini-bio: Dwayne Douglas Johnson (born May 2, 1972) is an actor and former professional wrestler. Known for his time in World Wrestling Entertainment as The Rock, he continues to use the monicker as an actor. Johnson first gained mainstream fame as a standout in the World Wrestling Federation (now World Wrestling Entertainment). He was originally known in the promotion as Rocky Maivia, in homage to his father, Rocky Johnson, and his maternal grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia (both of whom were also wrestlers, which led him to be billed as the first third generation wrestler in the history of the World Wrestling Federation). After largely retiring from the ring to begin a successful acting career in 2002, Johnson retained the name "The Rock".

Aloha, The Rock is an inspiration. Amazingly, what he's done off screen and out of the ring is what impressed my students most. I was teaching 6th graders about serving community being an honor and after reviewing several charties the kids voted on donating monies to Make A Wish Foundation, Hawai'i chapter. . .The Rock's photo with a Hawai'i little boy made all the difference. Anyway, for 3 weeks they to picked and sold guava, make yard sales, and donated their allowances to help make a wish for a child with and incurable condition. Thank you god for The Rock for the aloha he extended. . .that photo spoke beyond any lesson I could have taught. He wasn't a "far away superstar." He wss their hero that took the time to make a wish of a child come true. . . . aloha, b
