Javier Bardem mini-bio: Javier Bardem is the youngest member of a family of actors that has been making films since the early days of Spanish cinema.He got his start in the family business at age six when he appeared in his first feature, "El Pícaro" (The Scoundrel). During his teenage years he acted in several TV series, played rugby for theSpanish National Team, and toured the country with an independent theatrical group. Javier's early film role as a sexy stud in the black comedy_Jamón, jamón (1992)_ (Ham Ham) propelled him to instant popularity and threatened to typecast him as nothing morethan a brawny sex symbol. Determined to avert a beefcake image, he refused similar subsequent roles and has gone on to win acclaim for his ability to appear almost unrecognizable from film to film. With over 25 movies and numerous awards under his belt, it is Javier's stirring, passionate performance as the persecuted Cuban writer Reinaldo Arenas in Before Night Falls (2000) that will longbe remembered as his breakthrough role. He received five Best Actor awards and a Best Actor Oscar nomination for his portrayal of a strong-willed man who survived censorship, imprisonment, and homosexual intolerance for the privilege to write freely, only to commit suicide at age 47 in New York, ending a battle with AIDS.

Ever since I saw him in The Sea Inside I thought he was good looking & a great actor. It's nice to know that he's finally being notices here in the states. I just saw LOVE IN THE TIME OF CHOLERA, real good love story. Yes I agree, he should be the next Terminator of if he could work on a british accent he could also be the next Bond. Well at least after Gerry Butler is Bond 1st ...lol...

After seeng No Country For Old Men I could picture him as a Terminator in Terminator 4. He'd be awesome! Much better than Vin Diesel who's rumored for the part.

In a role of such epic Oscar-caliber, he delivered perhaps the best performance of his career as Anton Chigurh, and I truly do hope this comes to pass and he wins it.

An outstanding actor. One of the only ones that actually look, act and seem like a totally different person in each movie. Just watch "the sea inside", "before night falls" and "Mondays in the sun" for a quick view. makes you want to slam your head in the wall for not being as talented... My ultimate favorite

Ok,first of all, there's no way the man is 25 yrs old. Where did that crazy birthdate come from? Secondly, ladies, watch The Dancer Upstairs. God He's beautiful. There are too many of these young teeny- bopper actors around for my taste. I've only seen 3 of his films so far, but I'm seriously hooked.
