    A millionaire with a knack for promotions offers a group of eight a million dollars if they can spend the night in a former mental asylum. Unbeknownst to the group of eight, they are the heirs of the sole survivors that escaped the uprising of injustice that happened to the demons that now posses the house. One by one the house gains its revenge. Can the group of eight survive the night and escape the asylum?
    House on Haunted Hill is one of those horror movies that could have been, but never was. Sometimes horror tries too hard on trying to be gory and not enough on story. I wasn?t expecting an Oscar winning story but the movie felt dull and uneventful. It wasn?t really scary and it seemed to lack the cheesy jump at the screen scare to frighten the audience. Stay away from this dud, House on Haunted hill gets one and half ghosts out of five.

    A haunted house movie that's not scary, with all kinds of last-minute stuff that pops up just in time to rescue our heroes from danger. Total waste of time.

    House on Haunted Hill was a decent film, it had lots of excitement and a decent plot, but some parts didn't make sense and it wasn't the scariest.

    loved it loved it loved it .... until the end bit.....
    even though i saw this movie at the cinemas when i was like 12 - and i walked out a few times too cos i was scared - its now one of my fav's and i seriously cant wait for the sequel!!!!! have at look at this site - they've got some pretty good pics:

    this is 1 in the few of these kinda movies that I actually liked, becase it did not have ant sex nor much cussing at all so I rate this good!
