| Synopsis: | Sunny, happy Torrance (Kirsten Dunst) is the new leader of the Toros, the cheerleading squad of Rancho Carne, an affluent San Diego high school that has lousy football players but one hell of a cheerleading team. National champions, they're the ones who bring in the bodies to the football games with their award-winning moves and sassy grace, and they're poised to take their sixth national cheer title. Torrance's new reign as cheer queen, though, is cut short when she discovers that her snotty, duplicitous forerunner was regularly stealing routines from the East Compton Clovers, the hip-hop influenced cheerleaders of a poor inner city school, and passing them off as the original work of the Toros. Scrambling to come up with a new routine for the Toros--and do the right thing by giving the Clovers their due--Torrance butts heads with the proud and understandably wary Isis (Gabrielle Union), the leader of the Clovers, who wants nothing to do with a rich blond white girl, but does want to get her squad to the championships. Problem is, only one team can take home the national title. Who's it gonna be? An unexpected box-office hit in the late summer of 2000, Bring It On is a smart, snappy teen comedy that bristles with good cheer (literally) and lively, down-to-earth characters. The story may be fairly predictable (who's going to win the big championship?), but director Peyton Reed and screenwriter Jessica Bendinger have fleshed out their characters with formidable strength and provided them with sharp dialogue. Dunst is a radiant comedian, projecting warmth, determination, sincerity, and a sublime airheadedness, and Union is an impressive dancer and counterpart to Dunst, matching her admirably despite her limited onscreen time. An excellent young supporting cast rounds out the film, most notably Eliza Dushku (Faith of Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Jesse Bradford (Steven Soderbergh's King of the Hill) as siblings new to Rancho Carne, who become Torrance's best friend and potential new boyfriend, respectively. All in all, a pleasantly surprising and intelligent teen movie. Don't miss the opening sequence, a hilarious send-up of all those high school cheerleading routines you had to sit through at boring pep rallies. --Mark Englehart |

-
November 4, 2008I think we can all confess to liking this teen movie even with all its connotations. The routines just make the movie simple as 'spirit fingers' anyone
-
November 1, 2008Torrance Shipman (Kirsten Dunst) meets a new student Cliff Pantone (Jesse Bradford) to take a seat next to Torrance. Missy's (Eliza Dushku) tryout for cheerleading is the closest thing could find to gymnastics, since the school doesn't have a gymnastics team. Torrance shows up at Missy's house is surprised when Cliff opens the door, & she learns Missy & Cliff are siblings to convince Missy to join the team to become best friend while Torrance's feelings towards Cliff grow.

October 29, 2008 -
October 28, 2008I like this movie, and how the tension builds not just between teams, but inside the team aswell, and how they beat it together, by believing.
-
October 27, 2008I'm interested because I've heard it's really relevant to teenage pop culture, but I'm cautious about watching a movie full of cheerleaders.
-
October 10, 2008Remember when Kirsten Dunst looked good? If not, watch this one. Funny and self-aware, this flick hits all the right notes for a fun comedy.
-
October 5, 2008ALL MY CHEERLEADER DREAMS HAVE COME TRUE!!!! except theres a certain cheerleader from high school who should have been the star of this movie!
-
October 3, 2008lols.. another musical movie that makes me groove.. kirsten dunst was amazing in this movie.. too bad they just won the 2nd place.. but still their team was the best..
-
October 1, 2008Despite the formulaic, fluffy storyline, this movie is surprisingly fun to watch, mostly due to its high energy and how it humorously spoofs cheerleading instead of taking itself too seriously.
-
September 30, 2008this is the best dance movie for me ...the dance steps are great and i love the music...the story is just to simple but it's okay...go toros!! Dursey and missy rox!!!
-
September 29, 2008I didn't expect to like this movie, but I caught it on a movie channel and I ended up really liking it! I just thought the music was upbeat, and the dancing was really cool to watch. It's scary how those cheerleaders bounce, tumble and get thrown about. The two rival teams were both fun to watch, I was rooting for both of them to win!
-
September 29, 2008this movie is cute and and funny.jesse brodfrod and eliza dushku are wonderful. i love watching this flim. it not the usally stuff i like but for one of those movie i saw just because there was nothing else to watch it was great.

September 26, 2008It was a great movie to watch with the little girls.. now some are cheerleaders..OMG!! Inspirational.
-
September 22, 2008Love this movie, the downside is that other Bring It On movies have the same story line as well. Makes it a lil bit predictable. But i love the BIO 3, because of Hayden! ^,^
-
September 20, 2008as much as i hate kirsten dunst...this movie was probably the most popular thing when i was in 8th grade
-
September 17, 2008"Ready? OK!", I guess. I wanted it to be better since it was the first of 4 so far. Much more drama than comedy which I usually like but it seemed a little out of place in this movie. Kirsten Dunst, Eliza Dushku and Gabrielle Union are alright.

I actually don't mind watching some ESPN 2 real cheer competitions and team from East Compton was pretty hot. The bikini car wash and the locker room were okay too.
-
September 13, 2008great movie, some great one liners "spirit fingers" and "my digit slipped" easily one of my faves it has my girl Faith in it (Eliza Dushku)
-
September 12, 2008A fairly standard underdog film with a nice twist. One of the few movies I can tolerate Kirsten Dunst in.
-
September 9, 2008I liked it. I liked Eliza Dushku better than Kirsten Dunst in this movie. Plus her brother played by Jesse Bradford is cute.
-

-
September 1, 2008Another teen movie, rivals, hip hop and all the other pieces that create the puzzle. Not a great show!

-
August 20, 2008Kristen Dunst could have done better, what happen t the girl that did Interview with a vampire, i mean really
-
August 15, 2008This movie is fun and disturbing all at the same time. Nothing like cheerleaders competing against one another at Cheerleader Championship level. The music is catchy, the silliness of one squad trying to show their originality only to find out their cheers and routines were stolen from another school's team. So when the football team sucks the focus turns to the cheerleading squad.
Meet Torence who find out that even if she is now captain, her whole entire 'cheerleading career' has been a farce. Missy the new girl on the squad must help Torrence pull the team together including having to find some originality in hopes of keeping their title of being number 1. With catchy one liners and a feeling of being back in high school, this truly is a marvelous movie for those who dont take it all too seriously. When I am in a bad mood, this movie always perks me up.... I am sure it can do the same for u. -
August 14, 2008ahahahahhah
lovveee ths movie have it and watch it frequently "brrr its cold in here i said there must be some CLOVERS in the atmoshpere!" -
August 14, 2008Who the hell names their daughter Torrance? It's a ghetto city in CA. Name her Malibu or something. Christ.
-
August 10, 2008Love Kirsten Dunst, hate Gabrielle Union, but this is a nice movie. but not one you'd like to see again.
-
August 8, 2008I LOVE THIS SONG MORE THEN FREAKING LIFE! I SWEAR! HATE US CAUSE WERE BEAUTIFUL, WELL WE DNT LIKE YOU EAITHER!
-
August 6, 2008I liked this behind the scenes world of cheerleading competitiveness and what it took to win. You find out that your victories have been stolen and you try to make it right and leveling the playing field so everyone gets a chance to compete. It was great!!
-
August 1, 2008How can I hate Dunst and Dushku shaking it in short skirts. As a red blooded man I'm pretty sure I can't.
-
July 29, 2008i like the coreograph..lol.. but this movie is just when you have nothing else to do.. its enterteining

-
July 25, 2008A great movie about what it truly means to be a cheerleader, ok well maybe not, but its a great Kirsten Dunst movie, with lots of great cheer scenes and you can't miss "SPIRIT FINGERS!!!"
-
July 24, 2008Woo - i love bring it on. also another movie franchise which goes a bit overboard on the sequels. (most of them being straight to dvd/video) but i like them! brrr its cold in here, there must be some torros in the atmosphere!!
-
July 20, 2008I actually liked this movie, and luckily Kirsten Dunst wasn't really in any other teen flicks (for the most part) after this point since I was just starting to zone out of this genre.
-
July 20, 2008Hmmmm.... Kirsten, Eliza, Gabrielle... all in cheerleader uniforms?!?! Wheres the downside of this movie?!?!
-
July 18, 2008La pelicula es malisima pero las minas en trajecito de Cheerleader me hicieron repintar el cieloraso :D
-
July 13, 2008It's so awful it hurts. After a while the female "entertainment" on the screen starts to lose "momentum".
-
July 11, 2008A great movie about cheerleaders. There seem to be a lot of these kind of movies being made lately. I like this one, great cast and storyline with lots of funky dancing.
-
July 9, 2008Omg there are sooo many movies on chearleading that im not sure if i saw it or not lol :) but if its what i think ... its great
-
July 9, 2008Ok I know what your thinking, but actually sit and watch the movie and you will find it is really funny and sexy. They mostly make fun of cheerleading anyway.
-
July 8, 2008Bring it on.. a movie about cheerleaders from a white school that steal routines from a school from Compton.. Stupid idea, executed decently, and the movie is slightly less than that.
-
July 8, 2008-*. Worst of the worst. Deserves minus than a star.
Definitely this the queen of Airheads movie. You got to be an airhead to like it. I feel embaress my self at viewing it. Even the boys in the movie were like Kens arghhh. I thinik im gonna throw at just remember. This was one of the worst experience in my life. -
July 3, 2008It a good movie and I enjoyed it but not the best movie in the world because its kinda the biggest chick flick ever...
-
July 3, 2008Great 90's movie! Odd that Kirsten Dunst was in it, but I can see it over and over without getting bored!
-
July 3, 2008Bring it on 1 is the BEST movie of bring it on.Because it has a good story, good cast, not like the other Bring It On,which just gripping on the dance.o, i admit the dance is worse than the other Bring it On.But,the story is good enough than the other.
-
July 2, 2008A really good movie. Never seen any of the sequels, as they don't have Kirsten Dunst in them. She makes the movie, in my opinion.
-
July 1, 2008this is another one of those movies that you don't have to be a high school girl to appreciate. It is really quite funny and i think alot of people didn't give it a chance because its about cheerleaders.
-
July 1, 2008This movie is just great. I love Kirsten & Eliza. And the plot is amazing, all humans are so competitive. Very funny.
-
June 29, 2008Im not into cheerleading at all but its the kind of movie that a lot of people have seen so I just want to see it.
-
June 27, 2008LOOOOOOOOOOVE IIIIIIIIIIIT!! I HAVE WATCHED THIS MOVIE SO MANY TIMES I CAN PLAY EVERY SCENE IN MY HEAD..LOL
-
June 24, 2008Who hasn't see this movie a hundred times? Not the very best acting in the world, but a cool little movie.
-
June 17, 2008Oh wow, one of those teen movies that you can never get out of your mind, even if you try. I know almost all the words.
-
June 16, 2008they should have stopped after this one...it was original and spunky...but once they made all the others and had the same story line with different characters...it got old. but i still have the urge to go back and watch this one
-
June 16, 2008lets be honest, i enjoy watching this movie...
and the clash is mentioned, which makes me happy :D
no-one knows who the clash r though, which makes me lose faith in my generation... -
June 15, 2008I love the moves in this movie, really makes cheerleading look amazing! Kirsten Dunst and Eliza Dushku were great, they are two fantastic actresses! Really good chick flick.
-
June 13, 2008this movie was really really good i like how it had some competition to it and that made the movie reallt good
-
June 12, 2008I didn't change the channel when this one came on TV. While I'm really getting tired of Dunst, the movie itself was... Well, lame, but a level of lame that nevertheless didn't force me to change the channel on a boring rainy day. At least the cheerleaders are typical.
-
June 11, 2008Good movie, not really into the whole cheerleader scene, but thought it was good. Found it a bit weird how this movie ended up making way for like 4 more movies just like it, but thats just me.
-
June 10, 2008I almost wanted to be a cheerleader after watching this.
Thank gosh I snapped out of it. No offense (I mean it). -
June 7, 2008This is the original Cheerleader movie! They're sexy and cute... and popular to boot.
Definitely a cheering movie you would want to see with your friends a saturday night and get a drink everytime a cheerleader gets hysteric. -
June 6, 2008Being a cheerleader I totally love this movie! It is so funny! I would love this movie cheerleader or not!
-
June 5, 2008wow i have not seen this movie in ages but i thought that this was a good teen Comedy movie...the director of this Comedy movie had done a good job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expect throughout this movie...i think that both kirsten dunst nd eliza dushku both steal the movie n they r both beautiful n sexxi as always...this is a good teen Comedy movie
-
June 5, 2008five years ago I would have given it 5stars, its a nice comedy and all it just doesn't age well with its audience as they mature. The writing and direction is just as smart and sharp as you can expect any teen comedy to be, but by no means is it perfect.
-
June 4, 2008Eliza and Gabrielle steal this zesty, zippy energetic and fiery movie. The love interests just about work even if they are a bit tagged on. Is it possible to write a teen comedy WITHOUT two of them falling in love? But the geek-bashing, gay-welcoming was a neat change. In fact I believe it's impossible to hate this film such is it's charm.
-
May 29, 2008OMG Torrance was kind of annoying I like Missy she was so awsome, but my Sissy was better I said a Burr it's cold in here i said there must be some torros in the atmosphere oh e oh e oh ice ice ice break it down now oh e oh e oh ice ice ice
-
May 26, 2008I legitimately enjoy this movie. Granted I haven't seen it in a while, but it's a girl movie that I don't find myself wondering what girls like about it. I actually understand.
-
May 26, 2008Wow, another movie that suprised me. I have to admit, ireally enjoy this one. It's just a good story and Eliza Dushku is in it. SHe's a great actress.
-
May 20, 2008Jesse Bradford is possibly the only good thing about this film for me, mainly because I hate watching girls in little outfits leap about sporadically like they're having fits.
-
May 13, 2008i caught the end of this in Yahachats as the beggining of a cheerleading special. may be lame but they have some hell of cool cheerleading moves!!!
-
May 10, 2008Goofy fun from my high school days. It's not that this is a bad movie, it's just that it... well, I just can't explain it. You have to see it for yourself, then you might understand there really isn't a way to describe this movie.
-
May 8, 2008The surprise hit of the year 2000, Bring It On is directed by Peyton Reed and features a cast of beautiful actors and athletes who enhance their cheerleading skills to win a competiton between a rival squad.
Kirsten Dunst and Eliza Dushku star.
This one unfortunately spawned three direct-to-video sequels with a different cast in each movie. Not that this one needed any sequels. -
